The 2024 Bike MS: Gateway Getaway was an unforgettable cycling adventure that combined the thrill of the ride with the power of community impact. This inspiring event took place the first weekend in September in the scenic backdrop of Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey IL, offering cyclists of all levels a chance to challenge themselves while supporting a vital cause.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to cycling, the Gateway Getaway offers routes designed to suit every skill level. With options ranging from a leisurely ride to a more intense challenge, there’s something for everyone. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views, well-supported routes, and the camaraderie of fellow riders, all while making a difference in the lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the ride weekend, tackling the fifty-mile route each day. The rest stops were well-stocked and a blast! Many featured music for entertainment, and riders could vote for their favorite, encouraging each stop to elevate their offerings.

Back at base camp, a variety of vendors offered a wide range of food and refreshments, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We lingered for a while, savoring our drinks and enjoying the lively company. There were also numerous presentations highlighting the impact of MS and the latest advancements in treatment. While the day was enjoyable, the underlying purpose of the gathering remained at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

In conclusion, this event is well-organized and supports an organization dedicated to helping individuals manage their condition.
